(Slightly obsessed) Easter Egg: Akamere’s Team – The Courage of Lions

It’s rare I let myself indulge in this sort of way – either visually or in hobbies – but I happened to be playing Pokémon Sun while writing The Courage of Lions and thought it would be fun to create a team around Akamere, the smart-alek, spanner-wielding Nosferatu youth of Othneil’s personal hell.

In a suprising way, it actually helped a fair bit in character development, and it was interesting building a team (inspired by Vampires’ resistance to the strength of the Sun) that was inherently weak type-wise to the leading legendary, Solgaleo, but nonetheless quite formidable if underestimated. Further convinced not to leave it alone (procrastination being my snag), you can play as/fight Akamere through this interactive animation below*. Think of it as her Gym Battle scene…!

Torpor was nicknamed for theme but also because she was caught on a midnight coach trip, so I had no clue where I was – could well have been Purgatory…!
